Unabridged Marriage Certificates (UMC)

An Unabridged Marriage Certificate, also known as a full marriage certificate, contains more detailed information about both spouses. Marriage certificates not only provide proof of a union but also suggests that the union is legally permissible and that in documenting the marriage, it was correctly witnessed by eligible viewers.

Non – Impediment Letters

A certificate of Non – Impediment is required by foreign authorities when South African nationals would like to get married in their country to one of their nationals. Officially issued by the South African Department of Home Affairs. Once issued, these certificates are valid for a period of six months.

Vault Copy of Birth

The vault copy of birth is essentially a copy of the handwritten birth registration from that one’s parents completed when registering their child at the Department of Home Affairs office. This application form would have been signed by one’s parents and would have been stamped in acceptance by a South African Home Affairs Official at the time after which the child’s details would have been captured on the National Population Register.

Vault Copy of Marriage

When a couple gets married in a civil union, they sign a DHA30 marriage registrar, this document is also completed and signed by both witnesses to the marriage as well as he Marriage Officer. The document also has the couple’s thumbprints and coloured photographs on it. It is the duty of the Marriage Officer to submit a copy of this document at Home Affairs and duly register the couple’s marriage, whose status’ will change accordingly on the marriage and population register.

Own Business Visas

Foreigners who are contemplating investing in the South African economy by establishing a business or by investing in an existing business in the country must apply for a business visa. As an applicant, you will be required to invest a prescribed financial capital contribution.
